GOOD TIMES: PRETTY IN PINK
IT'S THE LAST MONTH OF GOOD TIMES! As part of the final month's festivities over at our weekly Wednesday Good Times party at Eastern Bloc, we've brought in some of the big guns to ensure that our six-year-long party gets a proper send-off. Last Wednesday, one of my favorite guests/DJs/persons of all-time ever, Ron Like Hell, returned to our decks to deliver a set hovering mostly around 105 beats per minute. We gagged.
Really living for Joey right now, who has been out and about a bit more now that he isn't busy filming with Snooki and Jwoww. He tore it up with us last Wednesday after a really ruckus Tuesday when we both went to see Lil' Kim. #partygirls
Paul (right) has also been out and about a bit more of late, possibly feeling more settled since he moved to New York from San Francisco back in the beginning of April. We'll miss him in SF this year when we head west again for our favorite pride celebration in the world.
Touch this skin, honey. Touch all of this skin.
I'm still reeling from the awesomeness that is J4's newish party in the basement of the Monster on Sundays called Beatjuice. It's a great mix of music and performance as well as new school nightlife meets old school pier queens who hang at the Monster and give runway for your nerves.
It truly feels like every single East Village resident has relocated to either Bushwick, Bed-Stuy or Crown Heights, which is why its always comforting to see locals Eric (left) and Jared pop in to our little watering hole known as Eastern Bloc.
Kelechi (right) has vowed to make up for missed Good Times by attending ALL of our remaining parties in June. He should be extra psyched for next week since my favorite DJ/producer of the moment, Rizzla (he sampled Let's Get Soaking Wet / Dive in the Pool on his latest EP. Nuff said) is guesting along with my JIZZ co-DJ Anthony Dicapua aka DICAP.
Ron Like Hell, live on two turntables and turning the party out.
Sorry about the Butt Magazine-like pink after effects on these photos. I'd love to blame Ryan (left) since he's both tight with the Butt boys (no pun intended) and a stealth promoter but I'm pretty sure our digital camera is just on the fritz.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKEY! Everyone's favorite Panamanian Jew celebrated another year of his wonderful existence with us and I think there might have even been cake involved but much like this photo, that part of the night is a bit of a blur.
Jeff, not to be confused with Roi in the following picture.
Roi, not to be confused with Jeff in the previous picture.
Matt, mastering the art of the Negroni, which he continued making for me all night long until I drunk and ready for my airplane hangover on the way to Los Angeles the following day. (PS - Thank you Los Angeles! I had so much fun DJing Brutus and with DONKEY at The Standard. Hope to see you again soon.)
Ron Like Hell (pictured) played one of the most unbelievable sets ever. By the third song I was living and by the time he ended with a dub of Heaven 17's Let Me Go, I was in tears. RON IS THE BEST!
Winter, summer and leather shows.
And of course there was the late night gossip session with one of my favorite photographers ever, Jeff (left). Thank you to Ron and everyone who came out last Wednesday. Join us June 12th for the third to final Good Times with me, Rizzla and Dicap. xo, Sparber

GOOD TIMES: ONE MORE MAGNAN
Just a few photos from last week's Good Times party. I forgot how quiet a Wednesday can be after a three-day weekend, though I did my fair share of running around for Memorial Day too and was still still feeling it when Michael Magnan guested with me last week at Eastern Bloc.
An early drive-by by my DJ brother Dicap, who is also coming to San Francisco with me to party and bullshit and DJ at the end of June for their Pride, which is so far the best pride party I've attended though I hear Madrid and Tel Aviv are up there as well.
The three bears, in search of their Goldilocks for the evening.
I've already gushed over our guest DJ Michael Magnan time and time again but goddamn does he know how to DJ and turn out an awesome set.
Original Good Times gangsters Michael (left) and JR, both of whom helped me get nostalgic for the past six years of good times that we've had together at this little ol' bar on sixth street near Avenue A.
A San Francisco treat in the form of Mr. McShannock (left), who stuck to the front end of the bar with our dear friend Sean so they could get first dibs on all the new bar entrants and last licks (literally) on everyone exiting.
THE MYSTERY PINK TINT CONTINUES, this week on DJ Buddha Funkenstein. I'm convinced that our semi-invincible digital camera is waiting until June 26th, the very last Good Times (with DONKEY DJing!), before it flies off to digital camera heaven after a job well done for each and every Wednesday. (PS - DONKEY is DJing in LA this Sunday at the Standard West Hollywood. And I'm DJing Cub Scout Friday night too. Come).
I had no idea who these people are and how that got in the DJ but now I'm remembering that the one holding a beer repeatedly requested Daft Punk's Get Lucky and then stopped the track that was playing with his elbow. No messiness in the DJ booth! (unless you're the DJ).
See you next week for the fourth to last Good Times and a vinyl set by the always awesome Ron Like Hell. xo, Sparber

VOICES FROM THE LAKE = WOW
Missed out on this album that Resident Advisor rated #1 in 2012, which is blowing me away right now.

GOOD TIMES: ANOTHER NIGHT ANOTHER DREAM
The handsomeness that is David Oh, who, unlike his DJ partner in crime, had never DJed Good Times before. So happy that the New York-London DJ family is growing at a rapid rate. We're also looking forward to a few UK dates in the autumn ourselves. Stay tuned.
Promoter Earl Dax strutted in wearing 10-inch pumps (or so it felt), apparently prompting stares of shade from that lady to his right.
Munoz and Money hadn't been to Good Times in a minute and felt a little more compelled to drop in when they heard that there are only five Wednesday parties left before we wind down weekly Good Times at the end of June, take the summer off and reconvene in the fall for something brand new.
Manchild, me and Parker (from left), chit chatting about all the Memorial Day plans that laid ahead of us. After DJing DONKEY at Bassment (Thursday) and the basement of 11:11 (Friday) as well as attending both the Loft and Horse Meat Disco on Sunday, I'm happy to report that I'm still alive and so is New York City nightlife.
GOOGLE GLASSES UP IN THE CLUB!
Kevin (left) and Steven are both long-time members of the Good Times family, though they've been on temporary absence since they've both boo-ed up and are pretty much living with their respective husbands at this point. #MatureTimes
The ginger DJ bear known as Sean McMahill has also been DJing with Bright Light Bright Light here in NYC since they both share a strong affinity for everything 90s, including Jessica Folker (which was not played) and Jennifer Paige (which WAS played).
My other DONKEY half Mikey (left), seemingly being lifted up for the ultimate carry (190 lbs!) by the DJ/production genius that is Nita Aviance.
David and friends. Our doorman Big Scot came in at the end of the night and announced that there was an overwhelming number of English, Scottish and Welsh visitors in attendance. There was also an incredible amount of alcohol consumed.
The look goes as follows.
David and Rod, playing every Steve Silk Hurley remix you could possibly want to hear and then some! We most definitely need to bring these two back at some point in the near future since the 90s are the new 80s.
Michael moved back to New York from India only a few hours before this photo was taken but insisted on attending Good Times and meeting all the handsome bearded men that he has missed out on for the past 2.5 years.
A late-night check in with Kevin G., who always arrives on time for my 2am to 4am set.
Not sure what's up with the pink tint in this week's photos but Frankie (left) and Marc still look as sexy as ever. See you next week when guest DJ Michael Magnan serves you some of New York's finest beats with me at our FIFTH TO LAST Good Times! xx, Sparber
